Mental Health Conditions and Dual Diagnosis Treatment at Rosewood Recovery

Common Mental Health Conditions Treated

If you're looking for mental health services in Newtown PA, you might be facing more than one challenge. Beyond addiction treatment, we recognize that mental health struggles often go hand-in-hand with substance use. Our Mental Health Therapy Newtown program is designed to treat a spectrum of conditions so you can begin your journey towards happiness and freedom. Common conditions we treat include:

  • Anxiety disorders: including generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) and panic disorder, which can significantly affect daily functioning.
  • Depressive disorders: such as major depressive disorder (MDD) and persistent depressive disorder, often co-occurring with addiction.
  • Trauma-related disorders: including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex trauma, addressed with evidence-based approaches like EMDR.
  • Co-occurring substance use disorders: we treat addiction as a condition that interacts with mental health, requiring integrated care.

We also provide support for bipolar disorder when needed. By treating these conditions together, we address the whole person.

Understanding Dual Diagnosis and Co-Occurring Disorders

Dual diagnosis means living with both a mental health disorder and a substance use disorder. According to SAMHSA, integrated treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders is the gold standard. While "co-occurring disorders" can refer to any two conditions, in practice our dual diagnosis therapy in Newtown, Pennsylvania treats mental health and addiction as one interconnected condition. Instead of addressing issues separately, our co-occurring disorders treatment brings together a multidisciplinary team of therapists, medical staff, and holistic practitioners to create a unified plan. ASAM's criteria provide a comprehensive framework for assessing patient needs in dual diagnosis cases. This integrated approach helps prevent fragmented care and supports lasting recovery. Individual results depend on many factors including patient engagement and commitment to treatment.

The Role of Assessment in Personalized Treatment

When you reach out for mental health services in Newtown PA, our process begins with a thorough, no-pressure assessment. Typically, this starts with a phone conversation to understand your concerns, followed by an in-person intake. We conduct a comprehensive psychological evaluation using validated tools, review your substance use history, and perform any necessary medical examinations. With your consent, we may also gather information from family members to get a fuller picture. This collaborative assessment ensures we design a personalized treatment plan that combines evidence-based therapies like CBT and DBT with our holistic and somatic offerings. Once we understand your unique needs, we can guide you to start your treatment. Recovery Begins Here at Rosewood Recovery. Levels of Care and Benefits of Mental Health Treatment

To support you at every stage of your journey, we offer a complete continuum of care. Our mental health therapy Newtown provides a safe, structured path, guiding you from intensive support to independent, lasting recovery. The following programs represent the core of our mental health services in Newtown, Pennsylvania, each designed to meet you where you are. Recovery Begins Here.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) - Structure and Benefits

The Partial Hospitalization Program offers the most intensive structure available while allowing you to live at home. Meeting approximately 6 hours a day, 5 days a week at our facility in Newtown, this program combines individual therapy, group sessions, and psychoeducation. We also integrate holistic modalities like yoga and meditation to heal the whole person. This level of care is ideal for those needing robust, daily support without 24-hour residential supervision, often serving as a step-down from inpatient treatment or for individuals who meet the American Society of Addiction Medicine criteria for Level 2.5 care. Our dedicated team can also address co-occurring disorders treatment within this structured frame, ensuring comprehensive healing.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) - Flexibility and Support

The Intensive Outpatient Program provides a vital bridge from intensive care to greater independence. Clients typically attend 3 to 5 days per week for 3-hour sessions, often scheduled in the evening to accommodate work, school, or family commitments. This structure allows you to practice real-world coping skills while still receiving robust clinical support. Our IOP includes group therapy, individual counseling, and dual diagnosis therapy in Newtown for those managing a mental health condition alongside a substance use disorder. This level of care is well-suited for individuals transitioning from PHP or those who require more support than a weekly therapy session can offer, helping you begin your journey towards happiness and freedom.

General Outpatient Program (OP) - Sustained Recovery

For individuals in sustained recovery, the General Outpatient Program provides continued therapeutic growth with maximum flexibility. This program typically involves therapy once or twice a week, focusing on relapse prevention, essential life skills, and strengthening coping mechanisms. Individual and group sessions offer a supportive community to navigate the long-term challenges of maintaining wellness. Clients often step down to this level of care after completing our IOP, using these sessions to reinforce their foundation for a healthy life. Throughout every phase, we emphasize personalized treatment plans because individual results are not guaranteed and depend on many factors including commitment to treatment. Our team is here to support your ongoing success.

Family Involvement in the Recovery Process

Recovery is strengthened when loved ones are part of the process. We actively involve families through weekly family therapy sessions and educational workshops. These sessions focus on rebuilding communication, establishing healthy boundaries, and fostering a deeper understanding of addiction and mental health. Healing the entire support system creates a more stable environment for long-term wellness. This collaborative approach is central to our philosophy; we believe it is essential to help you build lasting recovery. Please consult with a healthcare provider for professional advice regarding treatment options. When you are ready, we invite you to schedule a consult call with our caring team.

How Mental Health Treatment Works at Rosewood Recovery

At Rosewood Recovery, we believe healing happens through a combination of proven therapies, holistic practices, and a supportive community -- all tailored to your unique needs. As a provider of mental health services in Newtown PA, our approach blends evidence-based treatment with whole-person care to support lasting recovery.

Evidence-Based Therapeutic Modalities

Treatment begins with a comprehensive assessment that guides our clinical team in selecting the most appropriate interventions. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) are effective for treating co-occurring conditions. CBT helps you identify and change negative thought patterns; DBT builds skills for emotional regulation and distress tolerance; and EMDR processes traumatic memories that often underlie addiction. These evidence-based therapies are complemented by holistic practices that engage the whole person.

Holistic and Somatic Therapy Approaches

Beyond traditional talk therapy, we integrate holistic and somatic methods to strengthen the mind-body connection. Our programs include yoga, mindfulness meditation, and breathwork, each designed to reduce stress and deepen self-awareness. Yoga sessions improve physical well-being while teaching grounding techniques; mindfulness builds present-moment focus; and breathwork helps regulate the nervous system. Together, these practices amplify the benefits of clinical work and equip you with lifelong coping strategies. This integrated model directly informs how we structure the length of your care.

The Treatment Timeline: Duration and Progression

Our programs typically last 30, 60, or 90 days, with the exact duration determined by your progress and clinical needs. We offer Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and General Outpatient (OP) levels of care, allowing a step-down model that supports lasting change. For those receiving dual diagnosis therapy in Newtown, this flexibility ensures you receive the right intensity of services as you grow stronger. We also serve those seeking addiction treatment Bucks County with the same personalized, adaptable programs, making it easier to fit care into your life and recovery goals.

Insurance and Coverage for Co-Occurring Treatment

Navigating insurance for co-occurring disorders treatment can feel overwhelming, but we are here to help. Rosewood Recovery works with most major insurance plans, and many plans cover a significant portion of treatment costs. To remove uncertainty, we offer a free, confidential insurance verification that explains your benefits before you start. All communications are HIPAA-compliant and confidential. Recovery Begins Here -- if you're ready to begin your journey towards happiness and freedom, contact us today to schedule a consult. Please note that individual results are not guaranteed and depend on many factors including commitment to treatment. Making the Most of Your Mental Health Treatment

We understand that seeking mental health services in Newtown PA represents a powerful commitment to your well-being, and we believe that Recovery Begins Here. Now that you have taken the courageous step to start treatment, here are ways your active engagement can help support more meaningful and lasting outcomes.

Engaging Fully in Your Treatment Program

Active participation forms the cornerstone of effective care. This involves attending therapy sessions consistently, communicating honestly with your clinicians about what you are experiencing, and completing the assignments you agree to between appointments. When you show up fully, our team can better tailor evidence-based approaches to your unique needs.

We encourage you to bring questions and observations to each session. Treatment works best as a collaborative process where your voice and perspective guide the clinical approach. Small steps like journaling between visits or practicing a new coping skill can reinforce what you explore in therapy, creating momentum that carries beyond our doors.

Building a Strong Support System

Recovery is not a journey you need to walk alone. Building a reliable support system strengthens your foundation for healing and can include family members, trusted friends, peer support groups, and community resources. Identifying at least one trusted family member or friend who can attend family therapy sessions often deepens understanding and creates a shared language for navigating challenges together.

We also recommend connecting with peer communities where you can exchange encouragement with others who share similar experiences. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, social connection and community-based support serve as protective factors that can enhance treatment engagement and long-term stability.

Planning for Aftercare and Long-Term Wellness

Sustaining progress requires thoughtful planning before your current level of care concludes. Work with your treatment team to create a personalized relapse prevention plan that identifies your specific triggers, outlines proven coping strategies, and lists emergency contacts you can reach when challenges arise. This roadmap becomes a practical tool you can reference anytime.

The American Society of Addiction Medicine emphasizes that a well-structured continuum of care significantly supports recovery outcomes. Your aftercare plan may include outpatient follow-up appointments, continued group therapy, and the ongoing practice of therapeutic skills developed during your time with us. For those engaged in dual diagnosis therapy in Newtown, maintaining integrated support for both mental health and substance use concerns remains essential.

Understanding the Financial Aspects of Care

We know that navigating the financial side of treatment can feel overwhelming, and we are here to help. Insurance plans, including many PPO and EPO options, often cover co-occurring disorders treatment, though benefits vary by provider and policy. Our admissions team can confidentially verify your coverage and help you understand what to expect before you begin.

To get personalized answers about paying for drug rehab Newtown PA, we invite you to schedule a consult call with our team. During this conversation, we can review your insurance, discuss any out-of-pocket considerations, and help you start your treatment with clarity and confidence. We believe financial questions should never stand between you and the care you deserve.

Do you offer services for mental health treatment only? What about co-occurring?

Rosewood is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) so there needs to be a substance use diagnosis to be a client at this program. We are co-occurring capable meaning we do provide services to individuals who have substance use and mental health problems.

How do I know if a loved one or I need professional help?

What if I can’t afford the out-of-pocket costs?

We are committed to ensuring that cost will not be a barrier to those entering treatment and we will work with you or your loved one as best as we can. We offer sliding scale fees through our generous financial hardship program.

Will insurance cover my treatment? Which insurances do you accept?

Every insurance plan is different. Before committing to a program, we will verify your insurance and discuss any costs. Rosewood Recovery is currently in-network with Independence Blue Cross, Keystone Health Plan East, Geisinger, Allied Trades Assistance Program and TriCare East. We also accept out-of-network benefits and help ease the stress of a "super bill" by making claims on your behalf. While we do not accept Medicaid or Medicare, we are happy to discuss our sliding scale fees to make treatment affordable.
